Spirits of the West – National Day of the Cowboy Celebration
The annual Spirits of the West is a two-day action-packed weekend of “Wild West” fun.
Created to celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy, the festivities include a fundraiser for the Bear Valley Historical Society; spirits sampling; action gunfighters, live music: special kid’s activities; zany contests, and Cowboy Church!

CELEBRATES NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY
Featuring Action Gunfighters and the famous “Doo Wah Riders”Spirits of the West invites’ families, locals and visitors to celebrate Big Bear’s heritage under the very same pines that the Valley’s infamous cowboys and cattle enjoyed so many years ago. Entertainment includes four reenactment shows by the Temecula Action Gunfighters. Theme’d contests for both adult and children feature ‘cattle roping’, quick draw with a watery twist, and horseshoe tossing. The Kids Zone offers a bounce house, Western arts & crafts, face painting and balloon artist. Music throughout the day includes Southern Spirit and the Doo Wah Riders, known for their high energy and awesome showmanship. The Doo Wah Riders are one of Southern California’s top Country bands and often perform in Downtown Disney and Knott’s Berry Farm.Admission is FREE. Gates opens at 10:00 a.m. and the fun continues through 5:00 p.m.
