Explore hundreds of acres of skiable terrain, miles of trails, and dozens of lifts between to the resorts. Whether you are a pro or a beginner, you’ll love spending time on the mountain. If you are an avid skier, consider getting the season pass for full access to both of the ski areas. For those that are new to the sport, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain both have devoted trails for beginner and first-time skiers, as well as offer lessons and equipment rentals. You can visit Snow Summit and Bear Mountain again and again and always find more fun to explore! On days when its snowy or you simply want to relax, head back to your rental cabin with a pool table and have some indoor fun instead. Summer Fun in the Sun
Big Bear may be most famous for having the best skiing in southern California, but that doesn’t mean that summertime is a drag here! The weather in Big Bear in the summer is nearly perfect and you’ll find that there are plenty of outdoor activities to make your vacation fun and exciting. The center to all the action from May to September is Big Bear Lake. Literally located in the center of Big Bear, you’ll enjoy boating, fishing, waterskiing, and more! Head to the marina to rent a vessel for the day or consider chartering a guided fishing tour to find all the best spots to fish on the lake.
Back on dry land, Big Bear has dozens of great hiking trails ranging from easy paved walks to full blown day hikes. Many offer great views of both the lake and mountains. The ski resorts also open up their trails for mountain biking in the summer and their lifts still operate so you can take in breathtaking views.
