Everyone’s favorite German holiday is almost upon us—we mean Oktoberfest, of course! Oktoberfest is one of the largest traditions celebrated around the world every year. Big Bear also joins in on the fun with their annual Big Bear Oktoberfest event that keeps getting bigger year after year. If you are planning on joining the festivities this year, you are in for the event of a lifetime.

49th Annual Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest has been a long-standing tradition in Big Bear Lake; in fact, this year marks the 49th consecutive event to take place. Oktoberfest is not just a festival to enjoy your favorite German beer but also a family friendly event with activities for the little ones. Enjoying Oktoberfest is joining a worldwide celebration filled with new friends, good times, and of course beer.

This Year’s Big Bear Oktoberfest

The Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest features incredible live music each and every year. However, the 2019 event will mark the first time that authentic German bands will be flying to Big Bear to showcase their heritage and songs. Come see how Oktoberfest is celebrated back in Germany where it all began with fun and exciting songs. The fun is even more exciting for the young children as they can enjoy various children’s activities found around the festival. Let them do the Chicken Dance with the Big Bear Chicken, the festival’s mascot, jump in the bounce house, ride the mechanical bull, get their face painted, find balloon animals, and so much more. We honestly think the kids have just as much fun as the adults, if not more!

Free Festival for All

Last but certainly not least is the cost to enter the Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest. Entry is always free, so you and the whole family can expect an evening of fun and frivolities. Authentic German beers are available for purchase all festival long. The festival ends on a spooky note with the German Spooktacular Halloween Contest taking place on October 28th. Show up in your spookiest costume to win prizes. This year’s Oktoberfest will take place from September 7th through November 2nd for two full months of fun and excitement.
