Believe it or not, Easter Sunday is still fully in the ski season here in Big Bear! What better way to spend the holiday than to make memories out on the slopes? Whether you are a first-time skier or snowboarder, or you’re an old pro, the ski resorts in Big Bear have slopes to accommodate you. Our rentals in Big Bear are located just minutes from two of the most popular ski destinations in Big Bear: Bear Mountain Ski Resort and Snow Summit. These two sister resorts offer nearly 1,000 acres combined of ski terrain for seemingly endless fun out on the mountain! Bear Mountain has the largest beginner-rated terrain of any resort in the area, so it is great for first-timers. However, it also is sure to thrill the experienced skier with the highest ski lift in Big Bear at over 8,800 feet! Snow Summit is the smaller of the two resorts, so it has a more intimate feel, but still, plenty of snow to explore! Both offer lessons and rentals if needed. For those who aren’t quite ready to strap on some skis, head to the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain. Here, you can bring your inner tube and slide down their ¼ mile-long trail. Best of all, they recently installed a ski lift here so you don’t have to struggle to hike up the hill!
For many, an important Easter tradition is a brunch on Easter Sunday. One of the local favorite eateries is the Grizzly Manor Cafe. This locally owned restaurant serves some of the best traditional breakfast foods in portions that are sure to satisfy the hungriest of diners. It’s the perfect place to load up on food before hitting the slopes! The Teddy Bear is another local favorite for breakfast. This diner-style restaurant actually serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner of homemade items with family recipes. You may also want to head here for dessert after a day on the slopes for their famous and delicious pies! Cafe Crepe is another local favorite, although it is more of a quick-serve restaurant than a full-service breakfast. However, the food here is too delicious not to mention! Enjoy a crepe in every flavor, from sweet to savory, and also be sure to pick up a cup of their organic coffee, some of the best in Big Bear! They also are a pet-friendly brunch spot and they welcome animals on their patio and even have dog-friendly menu items!
