Halloween Events in Big Bear in The Village
Celebrate Halloween in The Village. Guests of all ages are invited to The Village for a store-to-store trick-or-treat. From 5-7 p.m. on Halloween you’ll be able to score some delicious treats from participating stores. Wear your spookiest costume! If you brought your pup with you, they can join in on the festivities. There’s a special dog Halloween costume contest! Head over to the Copper Q for the event that takes place 4-4:30 p.m. before hitting the streets and shops for trick-or-treat.
Treats & Trails
Join the Southern California Mountains Foundation for Halloween in Big Bear this fall season. They’ll be hosting the annual event on the Rathbun Trail in nearby Moonridge. Dress in your Halloween best and bring the family to enjoy the event that includes trick-or-treating! The event takes place October 28, 12-2 p.m.
Howl at the Moon Halloween Party
Join in the Halloween fun at Barrel 33. All ages are welcome to enjoy the party that includes a DJ, seasonal drinks and foods, raffles, prizes, and a costume contest. Adults: the first drink is free! Also, kids in the group get in free. The event takes place 5-8 p.m. on October 28. Check out their website to register for the ticketed event.
Escape Rooms
The Big Bear Escape Room goes spooky for Halloween. Try their Halloween “Big Bear Asylum” puzzle room or try another regularly available room. Mountain Room Escapes also offers escape room experiences with a variety of stories. No matter where you go, you’ll need to solve the clues and break out of the room in 60 minutes or less to win. Each room is rated by difficulty and has an advised age and number of participants to solve, so choose the appropriate room for you and your group when you book online.
Alpine Pedal Path
Stretch your legs and set out on foot or rent some bikes and point yourself in the direction of the Alpine Pedal Path. The 2.5-mile path is located on the north shore of Big Bear Lake. It’s perfect for all ages and skill levels, since it is mostly asphalt and mostly flat. There are sections that cut close to the water for a beautiful view of the lake, as well as through trees and beautiful scenery for a fun way to get a breath of fresh mountain air and sunshine. The adventure starts at the Stanfield Cutoff and ends near the Solar Observatory. No matter what mode of transportation you choose, make sure to watch for walkers, joggers, bikers, and others gliding along the path on rollerblades.
Hiking
A breath of fresh mountain air, beautiful mountain scenery, pine forests, and open landscape as far as the eye can see. That’s what you’ll get when you lace up your hiking shoes or boots and head out. Make sure to also pack plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection and before you set off to explore the nature of Big Bear and the surrounding area. You’ll find many parks and trails in and around Big Bear to hike and experience nature’s beauty at its best. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture pictures of breathtaking landscapes and local wildlife in their natural habitat.
