Although Big Bear may seem like a quaint mountain town, we have the nightlife of a big city and you are sure to have a good time here. There are plenty of local bars and pubs, many of which go all out for St. Patrick’s Day. If you enjoy karaoke along with your drinks, then head on over to Murray’s Saloon & Eatery. Murray’s has been the favorite Irish bar in Big Bear for over 25 years and they certainly know how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, as they often lead the town with a fun block-party inspired annual celebration. Not only do they offer delicious bites, but they also have great entertainment, such as pool tables and karaoke 7 nights a week. Whiskey’s Dave’s is another favorite haunt in Big Bear, with microbrews on tap and, of course, a fantastic whiskey selection. They also have a great patio area equipped with fire pits to keep comfortable and warm. For a celebration with a country flair, head to Wyatt’s Grill and Saloon. Mid-March is still full-blown ski season in Big Bear and the slopes await! Our rentals in California are conveniently located near two of the best ski resorts in the area, Bear Mountain Ski Resort, and Snow Summit. Snow Summit is a fantastic destination for both skiers and snowboarders, with nearly 300 acres of terrain to explore. Bear Mountain is the larger of the two resorts, with over 700 acres of ski area. It is also very beginner-friendly, with the largest beginner terrain of any resort in the area. However, Bear Mountain isn’t just for beginners, as it also boasts the highest ski lift in the area, topping out at over 8,800 feet! No matter your comfort level on skis or a snowboard, these resorts have you covered, even offering lessons and equipment rentals if needed. For those who aren’t quite adventurous enough for skis, but still want to enjoy the snow, the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is a fantastic destination. Grab your inner tube and enjoy the ¼ mile slide to the bottom of the hill. The best part is that the Alpine Slide is equipped with a ski lift, which means you get to have all the fun without hiking back up to the top!
